JEE Main 2018 exam pattern includes details about marking scheme, nature of the questions, time duration to attempt the paper, mode of paper, medium of exam, etc.

Salient points of Exam pattern of JEE Main 2018

JEE Main 2018 will have Paper I and Paper II. Candidates can take either of the two or both the papers. Paper I is for B.Tech while Paper II is held for admissions to B.Arch programme.

The test has objective type or multiple choice questions (MCQs).

JEE Main 2018 is expected to be held in English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi and Gujarati languages.

The entrance test is conducted in both modes – Online (computer based test) and Offline (Pen & Paper based test).

Total marks for JEE Main 2018 paper are 360 against total 90 questions. This means that each question carries a weightage of 4 marks. Correct answers will fetch 4 marks each, while each incorrect answer carries negative marking (-1 or 1/4th marks will be deducted).

JEE Main Syllabus

The syllabus of JEE Main 2018 helps aspiring candidates in knowing the topics and chapters of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from where they must study in order to prepare for the engineering entrance test. JEE Main 2018 syllabus gives the candidates idea about the important topics they must invest time in studying, while it also helps the aspirants to understand what is not important to study.

CBSE, the exam conducting authority releases the sample papers or question papers of the previous years for aspiring candidates to refer for the entrance test. JEE Main 2018 College Predictor is a simple yet unique tool developed by to help candidates zero upon the colleges they want to seek admission in. Thus, if you are worried about which college you will get on the basis of JEE Main 2018 score/marks, just try JEE Main College Predictor 2018. While using the college predictor of JEE Main 2018, the candidates have to just go to the tool and enter details like Date of Birth, JEE Main 2018 Rank, Category, Home State and Preferred Branches. After entering these details, the tool will predict the highly probable colleges where the candidates can get admission in B.Tech programmes.

By using JEE Main college predictor 2018, the candidates will get to know beforehand which all colleges they have possible chances of admission with different B.Tech branches.

JEE Main 2018 rank list is the list which will reflect candidates All India Ranks and Category Ranks. The rank list of JEE Main 2018 is expected to be released along with the result of JEE Main 2018 as it was released in 2017. Earlier, the rank list of JEE Main was announced separately than the result, but since last year (as the role of class 12th marks for normalisation was done away with) the rank list has been declared along with the result. JEE Main 2018 rank list will be prepared on the basis of actual scores of the candidates in the engineering entrance test. The All India Ranks (AIRs) are used for admission, while the category ranks are just for information sake. Candidates can download their JEE Main 2018 rank card after checking their JEE Main result 2018 through the result link.

The cutoff of JEE Main 2018 determine the admission opportunities for the candidates. JEE Main 2018 cutoff will be released by CBSE after the result announcement. The cutoff of JEE Main 2018 is the minimum marks required by the test takers to score in order to be eligible for admissions. Candidates must note that no candidate will be eligible for admissions who secured marks lesser than JEE main cutoff 2018. Thus, candidates must either secure marks equal to JEE main 2018 cutoff or more than that. JEE Main 2018 cutoff is the minimum marks which show the qualifying status of the JEE Main 2018 candidates for admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Further, JEE Main cutoff marks 2018 are also the qualifying marks for appearing in JEE Advanced 2018 for admissions to the IITs.
